Avignon is inspired by neoclassical Aubusson carpets of the French Empire and Directoire periods. A pale yellow-beige field is separated into four sections with each containing either classical Roman musical instruments or hunting gear. A large cream oval medallion contains a central floral spray of rose, lilac, blue, teal-green and beige surrounded by Della Robbia wreaths arranged to form a star. A reddish brown border with blue acanthus leaves and flowers and gold and brown outside bands complete this grand rug.
Handmade with ancient French dyeing and weaving methods, this rug has thousands of subtle color shades which make it work with many fabrics.
Green manufacturing methods and no chemical washing make this rug safe for children and pets.
Use a non-skid rug pad to hold the rug securely in place and make a room feel warmer in winter, cooler in summer and quieter.
