Etienne is inspired by neoclassical Aubusson carpets of the French Empire period particularly the rugs designed for Napoleon by Percier and Fontaine. Each corner of the cream field has a blue shield and a knight’s helmet supported by a pair of mythical maidens sprouting acanthus leaves and blowing trumpets. A large round medallion with a navy blue inner circle has radial spokes of blue spears alternating with a gold eagle atop a red banner. The width side of the rug has a border of multiple navy blue squares each containing a laurel wreath crossed by either a quiver of arrows or a sword scabbard. The rug creates a regal atmosphere.
Handmade with ancient French dyeing and weaving methods, this rug has thousands of subtle color shades which make it work with many fabrics.
Green manufacturing methods and no chemical washing make this rug safe for children and pets.
