Gray-blue, dark sienna, khaki, green, yellow and gold fantasy botanical motifs on a yellow and gold background in a design based on an original Asmara painting by Elizabeth Moisan inspired by Jacobean embroideries and Pontremoli needlepoint rugs made for Queen Mary (of Windsor House) in the 1930s.
This hand made cut and loop pile rug was made by combining a loop weave invented by Asmara with the ancient French Savonnerie pile weave. Woven with a complex yarn made up several yarns of different shades, this rug has a unique texture and shading variations reminiscent of rare antique rugs.
Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA.
Green manufacturing methods make this rug safe for children and pets.
