Dark brown background with an large scale Greek key pattern in copper and orange. Handmade with lustrous hand spun wool and Chinese silk.
Based on an Asmara painting by Elizabeth Moisan inspired by an antique Japanese man’s coat.
Fine hand spun wool yarns are dyed by an ancient French method and are hand knotted in a cut and loop weave invented by Asmara with. Fine silk is used for highlights. The unique color and texture variations rival antique rugs.
Can be ordered in custom colors and sizes. The largest custom size is 27ft. x 39ft. or 8m x 12m. Custom shapes include round, oval and square.
Green manufacturing methods make this rug safe for children and pets. Unlike most other rug makers, Asmara never uses chemical washes.
Used with a pad this rug helps to keep rooms warm in winter, cool in summer and dampen urban noise.
