Based on an original Asmara painting by Elizabeth Moisan inspired by an antique English embroidery.
Yellow green vines and leaves and exotic flowers in blue, plum, Venetian red, lilac, gray lay gracefully on a cream and yellow background.
This hand made cut and loop pile rug was made by combining a loop weave invented by Asmara with the ancient French Savonnerie pile weave. Woven with a complex yarn made up several yarns of different shades, this rug has a unique texture and shading variations reminiscent of rare antique rugs.
Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA.
Green manufacturing methods make this rug safe for children and pets. Unlike most other rug makers, Asmara never uses chemical washes.
