Alcazar is based on an original Asmara painting inspired by a visit to Granada, famous in the 14th century for its silk fabrics. Tonal shades of travertine marble, pearl, sand-beige and taupe are rendered in a leaf and pomegranate pattern.
This hand made cut and loop pile rug was made by combining a loop weave invented by Asmara with the ancient French Savonnerie pile weave. Woven with a complex yarn made up several yarns of different shades, this rug has a unique texture and shading variations reminiscent of rare antique rugs.
Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA.
Green manufacturing methods make this rug safe for children.
