Chartres is inspired by 18th and 19th century French Aubusson rugs in the romantic style associated with Marie Antoinette. A French-blue field is festooned with garlands in rose, lilac, blue and green which enclose musical instruments in the four corners. An eight sided rectangular central medallion is suspended from blue ribbons. Inside this medallion is a rectangular cream medallion which contains a cream oval medallion formed by gold scrolls. A cream border containing rose, lilac and blue acanthus buds and outer bands in gold and blue finish this exceptionally beautiful rug.
Handmade with ancient French dyeing and weaving methods, this rug has thousands of subtle color shades which make it work with many fabrics.
Green manufacturing methods and no chemical washing make this rug safe for children and pets.
