Red, aqua, blue, teal and gold motifs on a dark cream and oatmeal background in a design based on an original painting by Elizabeth Moisan inspired by 18th century, hand woven, Indian chintz bed covers and wall hangings made for the English market. Such Elizabethan embroidery patterns, when executed by Indian artisans, metamorphosed into an exotic style and became highly fashionable in 18th and 19th century Europe.
Made with fine quality hand spun wool yarns, this hand made needlepoint rug has natural variations in colors and texture similar to antique rugs.
Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA.
