Dark brown, Venetian red, teal, green, yellow and gold in a geometric pattern inspired by the French Empire period. The rug was made from an original Asmara painting by Russian theater artist Ludmila Slavinsky who infused it with the dramatic colors of the Bolshoi Ballet.
This hand made cut and loop pile rug was made by combining a loop weave invented by Asmara with the ancient French Savonnerie pile weave. Woven with a complex yarn made up several yarns of different shades, this rug has a unique texture and shading variations reminiscent of rare antique rugs.
Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA.
Green manufacturing methods make this rug safe for children and pets. Unlike most other rug makers, Asmara never uses chemical washes.
