Based on an original Asmara painting by Elizabeth Moisan inspired by the endless sand dunes pictured in the film “The English Patient”. Shadows in many shades of gray-blue float on a golden sand background heathered with blue.
This hand made cut and loop pile rug was made by combining a loop weave invented by Asmara with the ancient French Savonnerie pile weave. Woven with a complex yarn made up several yarns of different shades, this rug has a unique texture and shading variations reminiscent of rare antique rugs.
Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA.
Green manufacturing methods were used to make this rug.
