Based on an original Asmara painting by Russian theater artist Ludmila Slavinsky, inspired by a 17th-century Spanish rug with Italian Renaissance damask influences.
Lobed medallions shimmer in tones of pearl, silver and gold on a white and silver shaded background.
This hand made cut and loop pile rug was made by combining a loop weave invented by Asmara with the ancient French Savonnerie pile weave. Woven with a complex yarn made up several yarns of different shades, this rug has a unique texture and shading variations reminiscent of rare antique rugs.
Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA.
Green manufacturing methods make this rug safe for children and pets since Asmara never uses chemical washes.
